Thessaly's Test is a special test used to assess a tibial meniscus tear. The patient is asked to stand on the involved leg, facing the examiner. The patient is asked to sit in a partial single-leg squat, achieving about 20° of knee flexion and then asked to rotate to the right and left, 2 - 3 times in each direction. A positive test for a meniscus tear is indicated by joint-line discomfort and potentially a feeling of locking or catching.
