Ankle impingement syndrome is a condition that is characterized by pain and restricted motion of the ankle joint. Symptoms typically include pain when running or jumping, pain when the foot is bent upwards (dorsiflexion), difficulty walking on uneven surfaces, stiffness and swelling in the ankle joint, and tenderness along the outside of the ankle joint.
