The Slump Test is a neurodynamic test used to assess suspected sciatic issues or lumbar pathologies in patients with radiating pain in the buttocks or back of the leg. This test positions the patient in an upright position with arms behind their back, thigh on the table, and legs free to swing. Cue the patient to slump (or flex) their cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. A positive test is reproduction of a concordant sign, with various progressions that aid in the sensitization of specific nerves.
