Glossary Term
Neuromuscular Junction
The neuromuscular junction is the functional connection between the synapse of a motor nerve and the motor end plate of a muscle cell. For example, for an action potential to successfully initiate contraction, the action potential must result in the release of neurotransmitters across the neuromuscular junction. Saladin, K. (2012).
