Prone
Prone: An anatomical position that refers to face down, palm(s) down, or lying on one's stomach. For example, when performing the exercise "planks" (Plank and Side-plank Progressions ), the person is face down in a prone position.

Examples of prone used in reference to anatomy, exercise, and physical rehabilitation:
- Pronator: A muscle in the forearm responsible for pronating the forearm, which turns the wrist so the palm faces downward.
- Prone Thoracic Mobilization: A mobilization for the facets of the thoracic spine using a posterior to anterior force.
- Prone I-T-Ys on Ball: During this exercise, the patient or client lies face down on a stability ball while lifting their arms into different positions—straight back (I), out to the sides (T), and up and diagonally to form a Y. This exercise strengthens (activates) the lower trapezius and serratus anterior muscles.
